Pairing the Right Elements Together for Perfect Chemistry!

Chemistry.com helps bring people together who are looking for a long-term relationship. It does this by assessing their “chemistry” through advanced compatibility tests and more.

Chemistry.com is an online dating service geared towards those who are looking for serious relationships. It is setup to help assess a user and their personality and using the site’s research and proprietary algorithms, makes educated recommendations as to potential partners. Chemistry.com wants to take the awkwardness out of that first in-person meeting. So it has designed its site so that users are assessed and then provided a forum where they can seriously get to know their matches so they don’t waste their time on disaster dates.

Overview

Chemistry.com is the sister site to Match.com and owned by InterActivCorp, a New York-based company. Chemistry.com launched in 2006 and has had over 8 million people from around the globe take its personality test. An anthropology professor named Dr. Helen Fisher developed the algorithm that Chemistry.com uses to pair up its singles. Her theory and the Chemistry.com site were both featured on a 20/20 two-hour special in 2009.

Package/ Features

Chemistry.com’s personality test goes beyond the basic yes and no questions. Instead, it asks users some quirky things like which finger is longer than others. Perhaps this is supposed to say something about the person? Actually, the personality test and account profile process are all relatively fast and simple to do, especially when compared to some other online dating services out there. When users enroll as a basic (free) member, they will be able to view the photos of their matches, take the chemistry profile test, receive dating advice from Dr. Helen Fisher and receive personalized matches in their email inbox daily. When users subscribe to a paid plan they can communicate with their matches anytime via email or instant message. Paid members can also play games with other members and discover who in the Chemistry.com community wants to connect with them.

How It Works

New users to Chemistry.com will be prompted to take a personality test. The test will determine one’s personality type and some of the things that make them tick. Once the test is completed, the site will provide a list of potential matches to the user for them to review. Chemistry.com then offers some fun and easy ways to get to know some of the matches without having to go through the frustrating trial and error of in-person dating. For example, users could play games, flirt or do other unique activities to discover more about each other.

Testimonials

Chemistry.com has brought many couples together, of all ages and backgrounds. For example, there’s the story of Gerald and Colleen, a pair of medical practitioners who were matched in 2007 and are now planning their wedding for April 2012. There are also cases of younger, older, and same-sex couples that have had success with Chemistry.com. More success stories can be read about by visiting: http://www.chemistry.com/success

Pricing

Users could access the basic features of Chemistry.com for free, but they can only see up to 5 potential matches per day under this plan. Like many of the other dating sites, messaging and other capabilities require a premium subscription. For example, if a user wants to communicate at any time with the matches they are interested in, if they want to email their matches, if they wanted to see who is interested in them or if they want to flirt using games or other online activities, then the user will want to subscribe to a plan. If a user purchases a single month of service, their rate is $49.95 per month. Users could also opt for Chemistry.com’s best selling option, which is three months for $33.32 per month (or a one time payment of $99.96). Finally, the best value for Chemistry.com users is to purchase their six-month membership that breaks down to $26.65 per month (or a one-time payment of $159.90).

Registration

Users can register for a free account at Chemistry.com. The entire sign up process consists of submitting basic information (i.e. name, location, date of birth and email address). Beyond that users will be prompted through a personality test and asked to answer some questions about themselves. The entire profile and account setup process should take most users less than 30 minutes, which is pretty fast for an online dating site.

Customer Support

Chemistry.com’s customer support team is available via an email form and by telephone by dialing 1-866-610-MEET. They also have an extensive knowledge base on their Help page where users can self-serve or solve many of their issues.

Bottom Line

For users who are interested in online dating but who have been a bit uncertain about online dating, Chemistry.com may be the solution. It can accommodate more mature and serious users and its pricing is a bit less than some of the larger online dating sites. Bottom line- for people looking for love, Chemisty.com could offer them the right elements for concocting a long-term relationship!
